• Tonya Stokes'  professional portfolio reveals an 14th year Free-lance Hairstylist and Make-up Artist driven to rise to the top. This Charlotte, NC Hairstylist is also a mother of one (D'Pierre), a cosmetology instructor, and native of Charleston, SC. She has proven herself by redefining beauty on a spiritual level.  She believes that all things are possible through God, the Father, who gives us the vision, tools and tenacity to complete our tasks in life. She has made a positive impact in the community and among her peers through her love of helping others. (Proverbs 3:27-28: Do not withhold good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.) Her work has been published in several national and international magazines (Black Hair Sophisticates, Hype Hair, Try it Yourself Hair, etc.)newspapers, and TV ads. She has graced several platforms including The Bronner Brothers Annual Hair Show as an Educator for Colomer USA "Arosci" Products. Tonya has also earned the title of "Key Makeup Artist” for The Portrait of Black Women production of plays by Nettie Reeves. She is also "Key" Makeup Artist for, "The Diva Hair Weaver" make-over television show.  She has written and produced a very successful motivational CD entitled “The Key to Your Salon’s Success”.  A self-help CD for anyone in the beauty industry.  It includes a one-on-one interview about her and the industry.  Stokes has also created a guidebook for stylists titled, “What Every Hairstylist Wanted to Know.” was co-written with , Alysse Stewart, and is available for purchase.  Tonya also has a love for radio.  She is the host of a local radio program on Saturday's.  She has worked at several  radio stations in the Carolina's for the past 19 years.   Besides being an entrepreneur, a motivator and writer, Tonya puts being a mother first. She is located in the heart of Charlotte, just a few miles from Rockhill/Fortmill, SC.  Her favorite quote is "I got my first start, by giving myself a start.,” Madame CJ Walker
